ED535 Creativity in Qualitative Methods

Focuses on creative approaches to qualitative research methodologies in education and human development. Explores a variety of critical methodologies, including but not limited to: community-based and youth participatory action research, indigenous methodologies, arts-based research, photo voice, and video research. Addresses varied data gathering and analytic approaches, such as walking interviews, artifact-focused and stimulated recall interviews, multimodal analysis, and other methods, depending on the interests of students. This advanced doctoral course is recommended for those interested in qualitative and mixed methodologies, as core issues in the course include an interdisciplinary as well as creative perspectives in methodologies.
